Awards Methodology

Developed to provide a holistic analysis of listed companies on the Singapore Exchange

Eligibility

Qualification to the Billion Dollar Club and Centurion Club is strictly based on the market capitalisation (>S$1B & >S$100M respectively) of the companies as of 31 March 2024. These companies are measured by the following metrics:

  • 3-Y Annualised Returns

  • 3-Y Annualised Net Profit Growth

  • 3-Y Weighted Return on Equity

Billion Dollar Club Awards (BDC)

Recognises excellence among companies listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) with a market capitalisation of at least S$1 billion.

This billion-dollar threshold serves as an aspirational benchmark for dynamic, fast-growing companies. Firms are automatically included in the annual list as of the cut-off date in March and are evaluated using a rigorous set of methodologies. Since 2019, the BDC has expanded its award criteria to include qualitative measures such as corporate responsibility and sustainability.

Centurion Club Awards (CC)

Introduced as a complement to the BDC, recognises SGX-listed companies with a market capitalisation between S$100 million and S$999 million, based on a similar assessment period.

Value Unlock Champions Awards

The Value Unlock Champions Awards recognise SGX-listed companies that have demonstrated outstanding initiatives in creating and unlocking shareholder value through capital allocationcorporate actionsbusiness transformationgovernance, and investor engagement.

While financial performance matters, the judges look beyond the numbers. They evaluate the quality of decisions, the strength of leadership and governance, and a company's commitment to sustainable, long-term value creation.

Assessment Components

  • Quantitative Assessment
    Shareholder Value, Value Creation and Capital Discipline metrics (TSR, ROE, ROIC, profit growth, dividends, etc.)

  • Qualitative Assessment:
    Strategic focus, investor engagement, governance, transparency, leadership and value creation initiatives (EQDP assessment)

  • Judges' Assessment
    Overall effectiveness, sustainability, execution quality, business context and future value-unlocking potential
